What to Serve at a Housewarming Party

Okay so you’ve just moved into a new house, you have most all your belongings unpacked and put in their proper places, so it’s time to invite friends and family over to see the new pad. However, you can’t just invite people over without providing some refreshments, and as you know Ronny is an amazing chef, we’re going to keep it simple and provide you with a variety of finger foods that even you can do to keep the party exciting and make it a memorable experience. Assuming your guests do not have any dietary restrictions, here is a detailed list of some great food dish options to serve during your housewarming party.

Light Starters:

Lettuce Wraps

This is where you can serve healthy food, but also get creative and have fun with it. Everything vegetarian filling to double stacked meat filling, there’s something for everyone. Add shrimp, garlic chicken, slices of filet, carrot slices, pulled pork, tomatoes, tofu, the list is endless. Whatever your main dish of choice, support it with a stacked lettuce wrap.

Ingredients:

Whole lettuce leaves

Your choice of meat (if any)

Salsa/dressing/peanut sauce

Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms

Yes, we’re starting to mix the vegetables with the proteins. I know many people are not huge fans of mushrooms, but if they’re prepared correctly, they can be mouthwateringly delicious. Make sure you do not forget the garlic and cheese on this one, those two ingredients specifically, make this dish complete.

Ingredients:

Portobello mushroom caps

Italian salad dressing

Egg

Garlic

Salt & pepper

Spinach

Pepperoni

Parmesan cheese

Mozzarella cheese

Mini Stuffed Peppers

Simple and elegant, with a KICK! This dish will definitely catch some eyes by adding flashy colors onto the table. Get mini green, red, and yellow peppers (bell or jalapenos work too). Cut them in half and remove the seeds (unless you want to keep it spicy for your guests). Mix in a tasteful amount of honey into some goat cheese and spread it into the peppers evenly. Add a little paprika on top of the almost completed stuffed pepper for a little visual more visual appeal as well.

Ingredients:

Peppers

Goat cheese

Garlic

Honey

Paprika

The Protein:

Grilled Garlic & Lemon Shrimp Skewers

Listing these garlic lemon shrimp skewers first, as they’re relatively simple to make and taste amazing. Grab some medium to large sized uncooked shrimp and marinade them for few good hours. Once they’ve been saturated in your marinade of choice, slide kabob sticks through the shrimp and throw them on the grill. Shrimp doesn’t take long to cook, so make sure to keep an eye on them while BBQing and lather the garlic marinade onto the shrimp while flipping them on the grill.

Ingredients:

Medium sized uncooked shrimp

Garlic

Lemon

Salt

Pepper

Marinade of choice (garlic, pepper, wine vinegar)

Honey Garlic BBQ Lil’ Smokies

I always use these as a fallback. If any of the other horderves do not come out well, or get eaten too quickly before other guests arrive, lil’ smokies to the rescue. You can put these little guys in a crock pot in the kitchen on standby, and break them out whenever your guests are ready. Another pretty simple recipe with huge results. A mouthwatering blast of honey, garlic and BBQ flavors supporting a meat lovers palate.

Ingredients:

Lil’ smokies sausages

Garlic

Salt & pepper

BBQ sauce (of choice)

Honey

Smoked Salmon Dip Deviled Eggs

Serving deviled eggs on any occasion is always a good idea (as long as they’re done right of course). However, you can kick it up a notch with adding a little raw fish into the equation. Dressing up the deviled egg with some fresh dill, paprika, and a sizable piece of salmon will make your guests gush over the taste erupting in their mouth.

Ingredients:

12 hardboiled eggs

Smoked Salmon

Fresh Dill

Zesty Lemon

Paprika

Cream cheese
